They blew up the Cooling Towers in Sheffield! I’m all for urban redevelopment and think that Sheffield has huge potential for growth, but I saw these towers 2-3 times a week when I was at uni, and they were a distinctive and visceral reminder of Sheffield’s heritage. I’ll miss them.

I’m kind of annoyed at Bolt for not running til the end, just to see what time he could have got, but the fact that he could ease off after 70 metres in the 100m final at the Olympics is incredible.

I made another Google Maps time lapse video (see larger version). This one is for a drive across the Golden Gate Bridge here in San Francisco on a foggy day. These are so easy to make and kind of fun… like old fashioned flip books for a virtual road trip. Plus, note how fast the Googlemobile driver is going. He blows past nearly everyone on the road.
