Cheer up, Gina. Things could be worse.

In Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’, Gina may have it bad, working the diner all day, but I’m sure she’d prefer to be doing that than dying of old age, which is what I thought she’d been doing for the last 25 years.

willw:

Japanese television as the earthquake first hits.

The automated earthquake warning kicks in 60 seconds before the vibrations are felt in Tokyo, the presenter is brilliantly calm while people around him are yelling and there’s a tsunami warning in numerous languages three minutes later, which allowed who knows how many people to get to safer ground.

That is impressive.

Million Dead — I Am The Party

(via NechyGreen)

And let’s not forget why I like Frank Turner so much in the first place — Million Dead.

His lyrics always read like a cross between a manifesto and poetry, but the last 30 seconds of this song give me goosebumps every time:

Let’s all go hand-in-hand, to the local polling station, and make our own category and vote for ourselves. Vote for OURSEEEEE-EEEEELVES!

I miss them.

Frank Turner — I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous — Live at Reading 2010

(via ducitductiducti)

I posted this song last week, because I am very excited about seeing him at the Download Festival this summer.

(Look at this video from 2007 in comparison — apparently, it’s the first time he played the song live. It’s the same song, only not…)

I reckon he’ll be on the third stage at Download, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be my highlight of the festival.

The Tracks Of My Tears

Smokey Robinson & The Miracles

Smokey Robinson & The Miracles — The Tracks of My Tears

If I had to pick my favourite song, this would probably be it. It came up on shuffle tonight.

I remember how I first heard it. It was in the early 90s — the first time I saw Platoon, where it’s played during the scene when Chris and his friends have a night off before they go back to fight. I made sure to watch the end credits to find out who it was, and then raided my dad’s awesome vinyl Motown collection and found it.

(Given the current news cycle, it would be wrong to not mention Charlie Sheen right now, so I just did.)

Why do I even open my mouth?

  • Me: Do you have a sister living here? I just saw someone who was a younger version of you.
  • Her: My older sister lives here.
