Marilyn Munro
A ‘Marilyn’ is a type of mountain or hill in Great Britain, Ireland or surrounding islands with a relative height of at least 150 metres (492 ft), regardless of absolute height or other merit. The name was coined as an ironic contrast to the designation Munro, used of a Scottish mountain with a height of more than 3,000 feet (914.4 m), which is homophonous with (Marilyn) Monroe.
I’ve never heard this term before, and will probably never use it, but I really enjoy the reason it exists.

Interesting Fact That Hadn’t Occurred To Me Before
Local television and radio stations have pre-determined passwords with schools to confirm the announcement of snow days.
It makes sense, I guess, otherwise some kids could have a lot of fun, but I’d never thought about it before.
Sizes in Space
There is something about this video that is almost comedic. I think it’s to do with the timing of some of the pull-backs. Still, it’s important to be put in your place every now and then.
Muphry’s Law
The principle that any criticism of the speech or writing of others will itself contain at least one error of usage or spelling. Coined by John Bangsund in a 1992 article in The Society of Editors Newsletter.

Toynbee Tiles
The Toynbee tiles (also called Toynbee plaques) are messages of mysterious origin found embedded in asphalt in about two dozen major cities in the United States and three South American capitals. Since the 1980s, several hundred tiles have been discovered. They are generally about the size of an American license plate, but sometimes considerably larger. They contain some variation on the following inscription:
TOYNBEE IDEA
IN KUBRICK’S 2001
RESURRECT DEAD
ON PLANET JUPITER.
This is weird, and I’m surprised I’ve never heard of them before.
My name is John Connor.

Biffy Clyro
“The band’s sound is characterised by a heavy, yet melodic, mixture of guitar, bass and drums, with all three band members contributing to vocals. They are known for using in their songs complex and interwoven guitar riffs, unusual time signatures and chord sequences and melodies that often change throughout songs.”
Seriously, is there any better sight than every member of a band singing at the same time?
The only actual answer to that is, yes - two drummers - but that hardly ever happens.
Biffy Clyro are awesome.
