Pendulum — Fasten Your Seatbelt (live at Download 2009)
If you asked everyone who went to Download this year what their favourite set was, there’s a good chance the most popular answer would be Pendulum.
They’re not many people’s favourite band recorded, but everyone who sees them live seems to fall in love with them. They’re brilliant at getting the crowd going. They’ve only played at Download twice, but they’ve kind of already become the festival darlings.
The only other two decent videos I can find from the same set are Propane Nightmares and Granite.
My notes from this video:
- The bass was incredible
- I was somewhere near the Union Jack flag you can see sometimes
- They said that this was their 150th gig
- When they kick in to a little tribute to the Prodigy (who were playing later that day) at around the 4 minute mark of this video, I have never felt such a wave of energy. I don’t know how many people were watching them (30-40,000 maybe), but it felt like everyone went nuts. It was amazing.
