Darren Taylor, of Rock Sound magazine, in the liner notes of the reissue of Million Dead’s ‘A Song To Ruin’
“Six years on and reliving the album once again, it’s amazing how it has lost none of its rawness or aggression. Songs like ‘Smiling At Strangers On Trains’ and ‘Charlie And The Propaganda Myth Machine’ still stand the test of time and sound as fresh and vibrant as they did back then. Album finale ‘The Rise And Fall’ — the 14-minute epic wig out — is one hell of a beast with its hulking fade out that puts Kyuss to shame.
‘A Song To Ruin’ was more than just a debut album — it was a manifesto, a call to arms for a generation of kids tired of being force-fed musical trite devoid of substance or meaning. It made you question everything, it made you dance, it made you sing-along, it made you happy, it made you mad. It made you. It made Million Dead.”
