Manchester Orchestra — Shake It Out
To be honest, I had dismissed Manchester Orchestra as hipster bullshit, without ever hearing any of their stuff. I’m not sure why, because I’m normally not affected by that type of thing. Maybe it was overkill. I don’t know.
But last weekend, during a friend’s birthday night out, I was talking to someone who seemed to have a very similar taste in music to me, and he mentioned them. So the next day, after the raging hangover had subsided, I bought Mean Everything To Nothing.
And I love it. Love it.
I played it again during my drive to work this morning and, after the first time this song (track 2) had played, I kept replaying it. I couldn’t help it.
It sounds very Biffy Clyro-ish to me, which is about the highest compliment I can pay it.
