My hotel room in Edinburgh is really strangely-shaped. It has two 6 feet deep alcoves with a window in each of them and this big block of wall in the middle that I can’t work out the purpose of. It gives the room really interesting lighting though.

Update: I found my room when I was going past the hotel in the taxi to the airport. The big block of wall is part of a huge battlement at the top of the building. I couldn’t get a photo, though.

About 30 minutes ago, the sky just turned this amazing colour.

The taxi driver caught me trying to take another photo and when I got in the car he asked me what I was doing. When I told him I was taking a photo of the Stop sign, he looked at me funny.

I took this a couple of weeks ago, after it had rained for the first time in a while.  I noticed that there were drops of water falling from the roof of a shed onto an old brick on the ground and realised that the hole you can see in the brick had been made by the same drops over the last few years.

Nothing special, I know.  Basic physics and geology and it’s probably not on the same level as, say, the Grand Canyon but for whatever reason, I liked it.

I spent about ten minutes trying to capture a splash and this was the best I got.
