Requiem For A Day Off

(Via un : bendelaney : jacobbijani : Kottke)

In the late 80s and early 90s, I probably watched Ferris Bueller around once a week/once a fortnight. So, by my reckoning, I must have seen it between 100-200 times. That sounds insane.

Tell it to the one-legged man, so he can bump it off down the road.

Sloe, from Lucky Number Slevin.

I haven’t seen this for a couple of years, but it still has some of the best dialogue I’ve heard for a while. You can easily imagine it as a play.

Dodgeball with Medicine Balls in the Dark (via JimRat21).

I saw Jackass: Number Two for the first time tonight and I laughed my ass off the entire time. But this sketch was the best: just the idea - Medicine Ball Dodgeball In The Dark!

I’m currently reading “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” by Ken Kesey, and although it seems super 60’s and drugged out I have been intrigued so far. I suppose when I finish the book I will watch the classic movie for the first time.

It’s one of those films that I wish I’d never seen, so that I could watch it for the first time, every time.

Jesus, Tom Cruise looks about 12 years old in A Few Good Men.

I’ve never seen Gremlins

It came up in a conversation I had with friends over the weekend that I’ve never seen Gremlins. I kind of said it matter-of-factly, but the impact it had on the conversation was a surprise, like I’d just cut my finger off in public or something. They seriously couldn’t believe that I’ve never seen it and thought that I was either joking, lying, or had just forgotten ever seeing it.

I watch a lot of films, and it’s not like I’ve ever chosen not to watch it. It’s just one of those films that I’ve never seen.

Now I think I need to see it, even if it’s only to never have to be put in the position of admitting that I haven’t seen it ever again.
