Where the Hell is Matt?

is back!

(Via danhacker)

This has just become one of my favourite videos ever. I’ve never heard of this guy before.

I’ll try to make this the last photo from Download that I put up, but this is one of my favourite photos from the weekend.  Heading into the arena on the first day of bands.
Ste was taking the photo, so he’s not in it (I’m starting to regret not getting someone to take a photo of all six of us at some point), but this photo just makes me happy.
(Photo shamelessly taken from Kelly’s Facebook).

Some friends’ band - The Learning Curve - played their first live show tonight and they were great.
Don’t be scared by the wifebeaters they’re wearing. They wore them loud and proud for one of their songs - ‘Boxers And Beaters’.

Growing up

Last night, at a friend’s barbecue, a nine-year old beat me at the Home Run Challenge on Wii Sports three times in a row and was actually giving me help and tips by the end.

I used to be that nine-year old, goddammit.

Screaming Trees - Sworn And Broken

I just love this song. Not only does Mark Lanegan have an awesome first name, he’s also got a great voice. But what I really love about this song is the organ solo that kicks in just after the two minute mark. It’s one of my favourite musical moments.

The first time I heard this song, I remember I was at a friend’s house and we were playing Mario Kart on the Game Cube. When I heard it, it just grabbed me and I stopped everything I was doing and just listened to it. I didn’t even try to pause the game.

Now, whenever this I hear this song with friends, it’s kind of become a running joke that there’s a kind of build up and then we just stop whatever we’re doing (which is usually playing Nintendo) during the organ part and then carry on.

I close my eyes every time I hear it.
