20 plays

In honour of Lostprophets, who:

  • Just headlined the last night of The Download Festival;
  • Despite being an unpopular choice, and knew it, didn’t give a fuck and said as much on stage;
  • Weren’t my favourite band there, but
  • Won my respect;
  • Won a lot of other people’s respect;
  • Exceeded my expectations more than any other band there, and
  • Got the crowd going like no other band I watched;

here is a cover of Justin Timberlake’s ‘Cry Me A River’ that they played live for BBC Radio 1, which has been knocking around for a while.

Ali and I watched Lostprophets headline the final night at Download.  We were standing close to the guy holding the red Che Guevara flag to the right of the singer.
