HEY! Get-get-get-get-get over it.

OK Go

Hearing this song for the first time in maybe five years just made me incredibly happy.

To begin with, I thought it was a TV On The Radio song, because of the handclaps (but I can’t think of which song off the top of my head), so there may be a shock factor in there as well.

Listening to The Clash’s first abum (Complete Control is playing at the moment) reminds me of playing Driver on the PlayStation during my second year at university.

I don’t know why.  As far as I know, it wasn’t an album I listened to especially at the time.  No more than I still do anyway.

But goddamn, Driver was an awesome game.

Go Opening Sequence (via stevenbeelen)

It’s been nine years since I first saw Go and, ever since then, I haven’t been able to watch the Columbia Pictures intro sequence in any film without starting to hum Lionrock’s Fire Up the Shoesaw, or at least hear it playing in my head. This happens every time. EVERY TIME.

The way Doug Liman cut the song into the Columbia sequence is always going to be stick with me. It’s been happening for way too long for it to ever stop.

It kind of annoys me when it happens, but I always end up smiling about it.

It’s only one second of audio.

I just made my favourite part of Weezer’s Pork And Beans the message alert on my phone.  I’ll probably have changed it back to ‘blip’ by 5pm tomorrow, but I think it’s important to have projects…

The Wildhearts at Download Festival 2008 (via scardwel).

Remember that video of Josh Homme losing it with a fan that threw something onstage?

Last week at Download, The Wildhearts played and actually invited the crowd to throw things on stage for most of their set.

This is the beginning of their last song, before the organisers cut the power on them because they’d overrun.  But not before Ginger had managed to catch an egg someone threw at him.

This was one of the best sets I saw at Download.  You could tell the band were loving it, the crowd was loving it and there was great interaction between everyone.  I wasn’t the biggest Wildhearts fan before I saw them, but I love them now.

(Contains language, so watch your volume).

Euclid Crash - This Mess

A defunct “Pop Punk/Powerpop/Alternative” band from Edmond, Oklahoma, I ‘met’ the guitarist on a small forum a few years ago and he posted a few songs which I loved.

I ended up importing their 5-track EP called F.M.O. (their only release) from Amazon.com and I loved it.  I particularly like the singer’s voice.

Every now and then, I’ll think about it and play it, or one of the tracks will come up on shuffle and I usually end up playing the whole EP.  I love it now just as much as I did the first time.  This song is my favourite.

Top 5

You know, I was just wondering what the top 5 most played artists of all the people I follow was last week. Not enough to actually go and visit their last.fm pages; just enough to watch it stream by in my Tumblr dashboard, where I hope to see lots of interesting content, creative things, and automatically imported feeds from social networks!

Thanks guys!

(Via nostrich)

I kind of feel the same way when I see nostrich reblog something from Tuneage, the great music blog he helps run. But then I remember that I chose to follow both blogs, so can’t really complain. Also, I’m able to just scroll past the reblog in my dashboard, so I do.

I honestly don’t understand why people get so freaked out about the wave of Last.fm Top 5 Artist posts that happen once a week. Can’t you just scroll past the posts or unfollow people if you don’t like their content?

I’ll try to make this the last photo from Download that I put up, but this is one of my favourite photos from the weekend.  Heading into the arena on the first day of bands.
Ste was taking the photo, so he’s not in it (I’m starting to regret not getting someone to take a photo of all six of us at some point), but this photo just makes me happy.
