It’s 11.30 pm, I’ve got work tomorrow for the first time after a two-week break, and Amistad, which is one of those films that you feel compelled to watch (and which is 2 1/2 hours long), has just started on TV.

Tomorrow is going to suck.

The coffee shop is going to be dead!

It’s 7.45 am. Normally, I’m just getting up, but this morning, I’m up, showered, dressed and just about to leave for work.

Last night, I told myself that this morning I was going to get up as soon as my alarm went off, like they do in the movies, instead of hitting the snooze button 4 or 5 times. And I did it! It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t fun but I’m 45 minutes ahead of where I usually am and it feels pretty good.

The most exciting thing about this so far is that I know the coffee shop near work is going to be empty.

I like being tired.

It’s 3.23am and I’m still up, so I’ve been awake for nearly 21 hours.

I’m absolutely knackered right now.  I can’t actually walk in a straight line, my eyes feel scratchy at the back and my brain seems to have kind of a buzzing throb.

I love this feeling when I know that I haven’t got to do anything tomorrow and that I’ll be asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.  It feels relaxing, almost zen-like.

I kind of want to stay up a bit longer, just to keep this feeling going.
