This is my major concern with Tumblr - its purpose isn’t clearly-defined. Is it a blog-host or is it a community? I know it’s both, and I kind of like that, but people have issues either way. And I’m not sure I enjoy not really being sure how to use it.

I’m seriously considering moving away from Tumblr as a host and maybe moving back to Wordpress, or some other service. I’ll still stay a member of the Tumblr community for sure, but using it more like a read-only forum/community/inspiration.

I think I’d prefer to have more control over my blog (if Tumblr’s down, I’ve got nothing), like how Cameron did a few weeks ago. That and the fact that I’d rather a few friends saw something for the first time than some people I don’t really know get pissed off because they just had to see a thumbnail of something they’ve seen a few times already.

I honestly do love Tumblr but, for my purposes, I’m not sure if I can burn both ends of the rope for much longer.

I’m getting addicted

When I’m on Facebook and I click on a thumbnail photo on someone’s page, I expect it to enlarge like it does on the Tumblr dashboard, not open on a new page.

It’s like when I used to watch 24 and then watch other shows and thinking about how there was no way someone could get somewhere or do something so fast before remembering that the other shows weren’t meant to be taking place in real time.

WTF?

Can anyone explain why my last two posts appear in reverse order, when they were made maybe 30 minutes apart? They’re in the correct order on my Dashboard, but are in the wrong order on the actual site.

The only significant thing I can think of is that they were made either side of midnight, but I made them from the same room and everything…
